Bianca Devins, a 17-year-old girl whose murder went viral on social media last summer, was killed. Brandon Clark has admitted responsibility to the crime.
The brutality of the crime is maybe what is most startling about the case. On July 13, 2019, Clark and Devins went to a performance. There, Devins ran into a friend of hers and, according to the police, they kissed. This infuriated Clark, who later engaged Devins in a furious argument.
Bianca Devins’ friends and family were horrified to see pictures of her dead body shared by Clark on social media the morning of July 14, 2019.
Later, Clark dialed 911, reported a murder-suicide, and provided his address. He was found cutting his throat when the cops got on the scene. Additionally, they discovered Devins’ body there.
But Clark made it out alive and was allowed to go to court.
Pictures of Bianca Devins’ dead body quickly became popular on social media, and many users apparently turned them into memes. Many users blamed Devins for her own death and sent those photographs to her relatives.
“It’s heartbreaking to watch people claiming that my baby deserved such a cruel death,” the speaker said.
Brandon Clark was finally sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after entering a guilty plea to second-degree murder in 2020. Before 2044, he won’t be able to apply for parole.
